Spay & neuter programs
Why It Matters
Spaying and neutering is the most effective and humane way to reduce the number of stray cats. Without it, populations grow quickly, leading to more suffering, illness, and homelessness.
By supporting these programs, we are not only helping cats today — we are preventing future generations from being born into unsafe conditions.
What is TNR (Trap–Neuter–Return)?
Trap–Neuter–Return (TNR) is the most humane and effective approach to managing stray cat populations. Cats are safely trapped, spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and then returned to their outdoor home where they can live without reproducing.
How It Works
-
Trap
Cats are humanely trapped using safe equipment -
Neuter
They receive spay/neuter surgery and vaccinations -
Return
After recovery, they are returned to their territory -
Care
They continue to receive food and basic support
Why We Don’t Remove Cats
Removing stray cats from an area often creates a “vacuum effect,” where new cats move in and continue breeding.
TNR helps stabilize and gradually reduce the population over time.
